In 2016, Alicia Laible-Kenyon was appointed by the state Senate to serve on the statewide Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC) Council and now serves as chair of the new regulatory and framework improvement subcommittee. Professionally, she serves as executive director of Elderwood Health Plan, a managed long-term care program. Though Elderwood offers all levels of senior care, its holdings do not include a state-designated continuing care retirement community. So why join the council? Laible-Kenyon, a former social worker, said she felt a sense of duty. “The governor was attempting to find representatives from across the state who had a background in health care,” she said. “There can only be one representative from a CCRC, but everyone on it has some industry knowledge.” Though many retirement communities offer a varied continuum of care from independent living to assisted living and skilled nursing, the CCRC model operates more like an insurance product, guaranteeing resident members will receive all the care they need without having to leave the campus. LOCKPORT, NY – Lisa Lundy, of Lockport, has been named community relations coordinator for Elderwood. She will oversee marketing operations at Elderwood at Lockport, one of Elderwood’s newest facilities located at 104 Old Niagara Road, Lockport. In her new position, Ms. Lundy will draw on her history of strong communication and marketing skills to develop and strengthen relationships within the community, with area physicians and health care services. Ms. Lundy has worked at the facility for more than 19 years, serving as the community’s director of admissions and marketing since 1999. She began her health care career at Hamlin Terrace Health Care Center and served for two years at Canterbury Woods. She received her associate’s degree in dietetic technology in food service administration – nutritional care from Erie County Community College. LAKE PLACID — More than 600 people attended a screening of Disney’s “Miracle,” based on the victory of the 1980 men’s hockey team vs. Russia, at a free showing courtesy of Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid and the Palace Theatre in Lake Placid. The event was organized by Sarah Shea-Kane, Uihlein community-relations coordinator, and Heather Clark from the Palace Theatre on the actual anniversary date of the historic win. HAMBURG, NY – Patricia Dole, MSN, RN, has been named Director of Nursing Services at Elderwood at Hamburg, 5775 Maelou Drive, Hamburg. Ms. Dole obtained her associate’s degree in applied science, nursing, at Trocaire College and earned a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing and master’s degree in nursing leadership from Western Governors University, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her nursing career began in 1987 at Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, in Springville. She later became an ICU Nurse and nursing supervisor at Tri-County Hospital. The bulk of her career was spent with TLC Health Network, where she worked in case management, risk management, staff development and emergency response preparedness. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Patient Care Services and was a corporate compliance officer and clinical liaison. Ms. Dole is a resident of North Collins. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Daemen College and earned Master’s of Science degrees in nursing leadership and business administration from Grand Canyon University, in Phoenix, Arizona. She began her nursing career as a staff nurse and charge nurse at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and gradually accepted more responsibility at several area skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers.
