LAKE PLACID — More than 600 people attended a screening of Disney’s “Miracle,” based on the victory of the 1980 men’s hockey team vs. Russia, at a free showing courtesy of Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid and the Palace Theatre in Lake Placid.

The event was organized by Sarah Shea-Kane, Uihlein community-relations coordinator, and Heather Clark from the Palace Theatre on the actual anniversary date of the historic win.

Lake Placid Mayor Craig Randall welcomed the crowd.

The organizers hope to make this into an annual event, with additional activities during the day for future years.
