Historical photos used to spur reminiscences at Lake Placid facility

LAKE PLACID — Residents in the Secure Memory Unit, called “Seasons Memory Care,” at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid now have the opportunity to share their memories as inspired by historical photographs of friendships throughout the winter season.

This exhibit is part of a special program put together by the Lake Placid Olympic Museum, Lake Placid-north Elba Historical Society and Historic Saranac Lake.

An installation of photographs from their collections is on display in the Seasons Unit. Residents and visitors are being encouraged to share memories triggered by these historical photographs.

This exhibit is intended to encourage storytelling and foster connections and conversation about shared memories. The three history organizations met with residents and caregivers recently to discuss the photographs as part of the “Blast from the Past” program at Elderwood of Uihlein.

This program is made possible by the Generous Acts Fund established by the Adirondack Foundation.
